This industry first continues Kenroy’s longstanding legacy of outstanding products, prices, and service. Founded in 1957 by brothers Kenneth and Roy Gomes, Kenroy International initially focused on manufacturing large crystal chandeliers for hotels and casinos. Over the next 30 years, Kenroy expanded in the lighting and ceiling-fan markets, becoming one of the first companies to import Western-designed projects from Asian suppliers. After its purchase by Hunter Fan Company in 1989, Kenroy expanded into the lamp business, and was eventually re-christened the Hunter Lighting Group. In the nineties, Kenroy’s line expanded to include outdoor lighting and decorative fountains. Hunter’s acquisition by financial investors in 2007 created a new opportunity for the business, as it was deemed to no longer fit Hunter’s mission. Kenroy management and the employee team joined together to purchase the company, saving over 40 jobs. The name Kenroy Home was selected to combine Kenroy’s heritage with its expanded focus on lighting and other home décor products all “under one roof.” Today, Kenroy Home is a profitable company with a unique commitment to success and partnership for both ourselves and our customers. Kenroy Home’s new motto, ALL TOGETHER BETTER, reflects the genesis and the mission of our company.
